An exciting image from the series; Stories of the Faithful Samurai, one of the last great series that Kunisada did before his death in 1864. The Syllable E: Ichikawa Shinsa I as Okano Kinemon Kanehide. These dynamic designs showcase actors in the roles of the classic kabuki play "Kanadehon Chushingura," which tells the tale of the 47 ronin. The brave warriors are shown during the night attack on Moronao's castle, wearing their trademark black and white dogtooth bordered robes.
