From behind a yellow screen, with a painting of a bamboo, Tonase watches her daughter as she diffidently approaches Rikiya to receive his message; in the background is seen Wakasa standing on the veranda & before him Honzo cutting off the pine branch.

This print is by Ando Hiroshige from the story of the 47 samurai, also known as the Chushingura, Over hiroshige’s lifetime he did about 10 illustrated versions of this famous tale, this was the 5th version of the series. 「忠臣蔵 二段目」
