Collection: Toyohara Chikanobu

Toyohara Chikanobu (1838–1912), also known as Yōshū Chikanobu, was a Japanese painter and woodblock print artist who was prolific during the Meiji era. He joined the school of Ichiyūsai Kuniyoshi. After Kuniyoshi’s death, he studied with Kunisada. Chikanobu is best known for his ukiyo-e bijinga, and his battle scenes.
