Collection: Utagawa Kunisada

Utagawa Kunisada (1786 – 1865), was also known as Utagawa Toyokuni III. He is considered the most popular, prolific (14,500+ prints) and commercially successful designer of ukiyo-e woodblock prints in 19th-century Japan. In his own time, his reputation far exceeded that of his contemporaries, Hokusai, Hiroshige and Kuniyoshi. He specialized in Yakusha-e and Bijin-ga. We have many reasonably priced prints by this great artist.

Dear Mr. Richard, opening the package and seeing the incredible bright colours and ornamental abundance of Yoshitoshi's diptych , it was just as printed today! It will be a pleasure to get more of your fine selected prints.

Hello, I am very happy with the print I purchased from Mie Gallery on March 5. (Kunichika - Sugawara Denju Tenarai Kagami). For such an old print, the colors and shapes are sharp and beautiful, much better than I expected.
