Riding in a Rickshaw - A woman and man riding in a rickshaw across a wooden bridge, probably on the way to dinner. The man leans back, holding a lantern and a cloth-wrapped parcel in his lap. On the river below a pleasure boat arrives at the restaurant along the shore, with tiny figures waiting on the verandah. A full moon sits in the evening sky, casting shadows from the wheels of the rickshaw and the driver's foot.
From the series; "Thirty-six Modern Restaurants" depicts beauties at popular restaurants in different locations. Women are shown serving a meal, relaxing in the garden or on a verandah, or arriving or leaving a teahouse. These colorful designs are nicely detailed with handsome interior and exterior settings showing an interest in Western perspective.
