Ikkosai Yoshimori
From the series, "Tokaido Meisho no Uchi" (The Scenic Places of Tokaido). "Tokaido; Hakone". This large series by different artists and publishers was made for the commemoration of shogun Tokugawa Iemochi's historic travel from Edo to Kyoto to pay respect to the emperor.
Yoshimori Taguchi started as a pupil of Kuniyoshi Utagawa. He specialized in scenes of Yokohoma-e (images of Westerner and their technical achievements from the enclave of Yoshihama) and has the reputation of having worked mostly for the export market.
Condition: Not backed, good color, torn at the corners as shown.
