The samurai Yoshihiro is waiting to assassinate prince Otonomiya Moriyoshi at Kamakura. A scene from the "Taihei-ki". The Prince is shown in his cave prison, reading Buddhist sutras by lamplight. The cartouche at left is in the shape of a chrysanthemum, a symbol of the Imperial family.
