The Armor-hanging Pine at Hakkeizaka (Hakkeizaka Yoroikakematsu). From the series: Meisho Edo hyakkei 名所江戸百景 (One Hundred Famous Views of Edo). View from Hakkeizaka or "Eight Views Slope,". The Tokaido Road can be seen running along the water's edge with Edo Bay beyond. According to legend, the great warrior legendary warrior Minamoto Yoshiie hung his armor on the large pine tree in the foreground while stopping to rest on the bluff.
