This popular Chikanobu series consists of 50 designs. The prints show beautiful women in elaborate kimonos and gorgeous hairstyles of the period. These prints are a fashion snapshot of various women.

At the top of each print is an inset showing a relevant scene from the period. Many of the insets are treated with ragged edges and faded, brown colors to give the impression of antique paper.

This series really shows the skill of the woodblock medium and the artist.
