Amusing scene from Tokyo Famous Places Twelve Months - June. Watermelons are being sold by a vendor on the river. Some goods have fallen into the river and the boys are trying to gather them, or take them. One interesting piece of this story is that little is known about the artist, Shosai Ikkei’s life. He was a student of Hiroshige III and was active from 1860 to the 1870s. He only produced 132 prints and 6 picture books. Which isn’t very much at all. すいか 本物 浮世絵 一景画 東京名所.
