Yoshimori Taguchi 1830-1884
Tokaido Meisho no Uchi This large series by different artists and publishers was made for the commemoration of shogun Tokugawa Lemochi's historic travel from Edo to Kyoto to pay respect to the emperor.
Yoshimori Taguchi was a pupil of the famous printmaker Kuniyoshi Utagawa. The artist is known for different subjects - landscape prints, historic scenes, birds and flowers.
This print is a view of Hamamatsu on the Tokaido highway.
