Print from Kuniyoshi's series "Pictorial Mirror Stands Matched with Thirty Selected Flowers". The Kabuki actor Iwai Kumesaburo III as Shirai Gonpachi holding a sheaf of papers, in a brocade-covered mirror surrounded by irises. Shirai Gonpachi is the tragic lead character from the well-known love story of Gonpachi and Komurasaki.
