Shuzo Ikeda

A colorful portrait of a Young Warrior. Shuzo Ikeda (1922–2004) was born in Akita Prefecture. He graduated in 1945 and pursued a career in art education. Later, Ikeda became a member of the artist association Nihon Hanga Kyokai, focusing on woodblock printmaking ('moku hanga').

Contemporary Woodblock Prints by Watanabe - Handsome design published by the famous Watanabe Publisher of Tokyo. Watanabe commissioned contemporary artists to create designs which were printed and distributed by Watanabe to special customers only. The artists carved the blocks themselves, which Watanabe then printed on hand-made Torinoko paper.
