Sharaku Reprints
Toshusai Sharaku
A group of 3 Sharaku reprints. These prints didn't all come from the same set, they were randomly acquired from different sources. Unless you’re a millionaire it’s impossible to own an original Sharaku print. But there are many publishers over the past 200x years that have published reprints that people like you and I can own at a very reasonable cost. The other major benefit of having a reprint is that you don’t have to worry so much about the sun damaging it. The 3 prints are:
Ichikawa Monnosuke II as Date no Yosaku from the kabuki play Koi Nyōbō Somewake Tazuna.
Kabuki Actor Morita Kan’ya VIII as the Palanquin-Bearer in the Play A Medley of Tales of Revenge.
Bandō Mitsugorō II as Ishii Genzō in the Play "Hana-ayame Bunroku Soga".
Date: Originally in 1790's. These re-carved editions were made in unknown date.
Publisher: Unknown
Condition: Borders as shown. Some embossing and metallic inks. Some staining and wrinkles.
