Shibata Zeshin
Winter scene of two sparrows in the snow. Zeshin was an important artist in the Edo and early Meiji period who was well-known as a lacquerer, lacquer painter, book illustrator and ehon artist. He was known for his Rimpa style. Zeshin was also the teacher of Watanabe Seitei.
