Bold and interesting design of Kabuki actor Nakamura Tojuro in the role of Soga Goro in the play, "Taimen" performed at the Meiji-za theater. From the Bust Portraits Series IX. Design 5. Kokei's was nicknamed the "Modern-day Sharaku". He suddenly retired at the end of 2000. After the completion of the edition, Kokei destroyed the printing blocks. Self-carved and self-printed on a very thin, translucent Japanese "ganpi" paper.
