Abe Hirafu slaying a great bear, from the series "Mirror of Famous Generals of Japan". Hirafu was a general for the Empress Saimei. He presented the Empress with two live bears and seventy bear hides.

Condition: Cropped, color darkened due to light exposure. Some backing residue on back as shown.
