A great print for sword collectors. This triptych is titled "Sanjo Kokaji no manebigoto zu (Remake of the Noh play about the swordmaker Sanjo Kokaji). Based on a Noh drama Kokaji, this story is about a swordsmith from Sanjo named Kokaji. In making a sword for the Emperor Ichijo, he succeeds through the spirit of the Shinto god Inari.
Date: 1848-54
Condition: Good condition and color, not backed, sheets are not glued together. Some insect damage as shown.
