Wonderfully funny print from a diptych (the right panel only). The title is "Eight Brides for an Only Son" (Hitori musuko ni yome hachinin). In the left panel Actor Ichikawa Danjûrô VIII is sitting, with his female fans on the right side peering at him from behind a screen. The paintings in the background show two deities popular in around 1849: the rice god Inari as an old man, worshipped at Nihonbashi, and the Hag of Hell (Datsueba), worshipped at ShInjuku.
