Title: Moon of the Southern Sea 南海月 from Yoshitoshi's most famous series: One Hundred Aspects of the Moon 月百姿 (tsuki hyaku sugata). This is number 68 in the series.
This print shows Bodhisattva Kannon, Goddess of Mercy, looking at the sea with the intention to free all beings from the turbulent ocean of samsara. Kannon is considered a manifestation of Avolokiteshvara, Buddha of Compassion.
Condition: Print color saturation and overall condition is very good. Margins as shown. No tears or holes. Stain on the bottom right corner. Backed. Nice embossing.
