Three books in the series "Torioi Amatsu Maritime Shinwa". The 3 book cover images match up to form a small triptych complete with a tattooed bandit. Inside the books are mostly black and white prints, with some colored designs in the introductory pages. An interesting and rare item for Chikanobu collectors.
There are 9 volumes total and these are the first 3. Written by Hiko Kubota and Kanagaki Lubun. Illustrated by Yoshu Sai Shuen, Yoshu Sai Shuen (also known as Yoshusai Shuen) is a pseudonym used by the prominent Meiji-period ukiyo-e woodblock print artist Yōshū Chikanobu.
