The Edo Era (1603–1868) was a golden age of Japanese art, culture, and urban life, marked by the rise of ukiyo-e woodblock prints. During this period, artists captured the beauty and energy of Japan through landscapes, kabuki actors, warriors, folklore, and scenes of everyday life. Masters such as Katsushika Hokusai, Utagawa Hiroshige, and Utagawa Kuniyoshi helped define the visual identity of ukiyo-e, blending refined craftsmanship with vivid storytelling. Today, Edo-era prints remain some of the most celebrated and collectible works in Japanese art history.
