Collection: Utagawa Kuniyoshi
Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1798 – 1861) was one of the last great masters of the Japanese ukiyo-e style of woodblock prints and painting. He was a student of Toyokuni. The range of Kuniyoshi's subjects included many genres: landscapes, women, Kabuki actors, cats (which he loved), and mythical animals. He is known for depictions of the battles of legendary samurai heroes (musha-e).

Hello, I am very happy with the print I purchased from Mie Gallery on March 5. (Kunichika - Sugawara Denju Tenarai Kagami). For such an old print, the colors and shapes are sharp and beautiful, much better than I expected.
